Introduction

Client Overview

Citate.ai is an AI intelligence platform built with regulation in mind. As a start up, the company needed a logo and a website with an emphasis on communicating what their AI platform does.

In order to reach and explain their platform to potential customers and investors, they needed a website.

They also needed a logo that is simple and trustworthy to establish their online presence.

Process

Logo

The client gave some ideas for the logo, including the letter “C”, a magnifying class, a hand pointing to a document, and owl, and some other imagery.

I created some iterations of a bunch of these ideas.

Eventually, the client settled on going with the word “Citate.ai” as the logo, akin to Facebook, Google, and other tech giants. However, we still needed a way to make the logotype unique.

To accomplish this, I kerned the hell out of a “Citate.ai” set in Inter Bold. I then replaced the “C” with a custom letterform making it more circular than the original. This was inspired by the client’s earlier idea of having a logo that looks like a target with a magnifying class inside as the negative space. Additionally, the more geometric look gives the brand name more of a tech feel. This “C” with a dot in it serves as the logo shorthand as well as the favicon.

For colors, we decided on going for a deep purple-blue to reinforce trust while not being so overt in using a standard blue which plagues many banking brands in the modern day.

Web Design

The layout itself is mainly driven by the content, which highlights the platforms use cases and features.

Challenges

The biggest challenge in regards to the website was creating a digestible graphic of the platform without giving away too many details.

The client wanted a graphic to serve as a quick overview on what the platform can do. Namely, it gives customers insight into the “black box” of AI in terms of analyzing the output of generative AIs.
