Digital Design & Development Specialist

Evelyn runs a creative studio where she provides UI/UX and web design expertise to meet and exceed business and client outcomes related to digital and website strategies. In many cases, she implements custom solutions as a web developer and webmaster.

Applying her background in creative technology and design with fluency in Adobe CC and Figma, Evelyn creates production-ready graphics, SVGs, design systems, and web and UI designs.

On the technical side, Evelyn takes designs and implements the designs for the web. This involves editing an existing web system, though she’s also been lucky to architect many website systems from scratch.

Evelyn is familiar with web editing platforms and CMS like The.com, Webflow, Wix, Shopify and has worked with integrations such as Zapier, Airtable, Notion, etc.

Using her technical web and digital expertise, Evelyn has designed, built, and improved websites using The.com and various integrations such as Shopify, Zapier, and Airtable to power e-commerce and other solutions.

As a consultant, she helps drive impactful decisions from brand to technical implementation while keeping web optimization and best practices in mind.

Using her practical knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JS, Evelyn built, edited, and optimized responsive websites and web components. She furthered The.com’s vision of spreadsheet website editing by designing and implementing semi-auto and fully automated web systems by integrating Zapier with other web endpoints. These systems unofficially served as prototypes for many core features existing today, including their “Page Sets.”

With regards to QA, Evelyn created the app's E2E test suite with Cypress to run automated tests in CI, all of which she taught herself. She was praised for her bug-finding ability as she developed an intimate understanding of

The.com’s systems at a user/usage/functional level through manual testing.

Any product is meaningless without customers and it’s hard to have customers without communication. Evelyn had the opportunity to improve my communication skills as she was the point person for assisting customers with technical and administrative problems. She acted as a champion for the user by frequently engaging with customers and reminding our team of user feedback and feature suggestions.

Evelyn assisted the OIT UX team across multiple student, graduate, and internal projects by collecting and organizing user and stakeholder information, creating user flow diagrams, and developing high-fidelity UI prototypes for A/B and usability testing.

The primary project she was involved with was clarifying the incoming web experience for new students enrolling in the University’s first-ever online Engineering Masters program. To accomplish this, Evelyn designed and conducted usability tests, documented results, created information diagrams and user flows, proposed improvements, and finally redesigned their public website.

Additional projects include writing an NLP sentiment analysis script to empower the greater UX team to make data-driven decisions; “hacking” Slate CRM with custom CSS and JS to meet usability and accessibility guidelines; translating static designs into interactive prototypes; and connecting Power BI to an API database to create a data visualization dashboard for internal use.

Evelyn communicated the department’s revenue and shortcomings to stakeholders by collecting and designing key financial metrics into a visually engaging and concise finance report.

She reduced the cost of the official parking map by 300% by designing it in-house. In addition to this reduction in cost, I brought consistency and legibility to the map that the previous agency failed to provide.

Additional projects include creating graphics, pamphlets, and posters for print and redesigning and editing their website.
